Joe Ohlin

Joseph Ohlin, Esq.

Joseph Ohlin is a Graduate of Howland High School.  Joe received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Hiram College and his Juris Doctor from The University of Akron School of Law.

Joe was the Owner of a private practice firm.  He directed a staff of Attorneys and support personnel.  He successfully conducted litigation in a variety of high profile cases throughout Ohio.

He achieved favorable resolutions of complex, often difficult to win cases.  He received a successful Wrongful Death award of $1,700,000.oo as reported in The Ohio Trial Reporter – Volume 16 Issue 11.  Joe has presented numerous Seminars.  He is a lecturer at Hiram College.  He is the past President of Commonwealth Land Title and Victorian Land Title of Warren.

Joe was the Senior Staff Attorney for the 11th District Court of Appeals from 1983-1985 where he reviewed and researched legal briefs and assisted in drafting opinions.  He also taught law to Paralegals at E.T.I. in Niles, Ohio.

Joe was the Owner of Joseph D. Ohlin Co., L.P.A. from 1985 until he sold his business interests.  Joe then became President of Integrated Medical Centers where he headed Medical Clinics throughout Ohio.

Joe joined Jones & Young L.L.C. in 2017.  Today Joe primarily focuses on Grant Writing, HR Compliance Issues, Labor Negotiations and Collective Bargaining.  His extensive experience as a lawyer enables him to recognize and understand the personal importance of every case and the need for thorough preparation.

Joe’s outside interests include Travel, playing professionally as a Musician,  Martial Arts, all Outdoor Activities ( Camping, Hiking, Hunting, Fishing ), and Scuba Diving.  Joe is also a Dominican Associate and teaches Catechism to Junior High Students at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Warren, Ohio.

Matthew Blair

Matthew J. Blair

Mathew J. Blair is a 1980 Morehead State University (MSU) graduate and 1984 Salmon P. Chase College of Law graduate. He attended MSU on a full Athletic Scholarship as a four year lettermen in football. He was selected to the Honor Society of Phi Kappa and Pi Gamma Mu and was the recipient of the President’s Award all while at MSU. Blair was also awarded the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award at MSU from Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society, and awarded and selected Outstanding Graduate Student of MSU prior to receiving a full scholarship to Salmon P. Chase College of Law. Blair received the Chase Regional Scholarship which is a full Academic Scholarship to attend Law School.

Blair’s professional experience includes an Associate with Joseph T. Sevete, LPA Company, an Associate with Richards, Ambrosy & Fredericks, a Partner of Zuzolo & Blair, a Partner of Dragalevich & Blair and a current Partner of Blair & Latell Co., LPA.

Matthew Blair is a current member of the Ohio Bar Association and the Trumbull County Bar Association, and he was a member of the Warren General Hospital Health Care System Board, the Mahoning Valley Sanitary District, the Niles Community Improvement Corporation, the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce (serving multiple positions),  the McKinley Memorial Foundation Board, the Troubull County Foundation Board, the Warren Foundation and the Ohio Lottery Commission. Blair was awarded the Chamber of Commerce Spirit of the Valley in 2007.

Blair participated and handled all labor matters for former Niles Law Director, Terrence Dull, working three different unions. He served as President of Mahoning Valley Sanitary District – participating in and reviewing all labor contracts. Matthew Blair is currently a Senior Attorney at Jones & Young, LLC.

Michael Seyer

Michael Seyer

Michael Seyer has been a Chief Labor Negotiator for 25 years.  He has negotiated over 200 successful labor agreements representing public employers.  Michael was a Senior Consultant with Clemans-Nelson & Associates.

Michael prepares wage and benefit surveys, develops, and recommends bargaining strategies and represents management’s position in the grievance procedure, labor/management meetings, and Conflict Resolution.  He prepares both proposals and counter proposals during the process of negotiations.  He finalizes the agreement and submits it to the State Employment Relations Board. (SERB)

Michael has a Bachelor of Science, in Human Resource Management from Geneva College.   He has completed extensive Labor Management courses in Unfair Labor Practice Avoidance, Workers Compensation, and Absenteeism.  Michael has experience in Conflict Resolution including Mediation.

Michael is a Veteran of The United States Marine Corp and former member of The Public Sector Labor Relations Association and Industrial Relations Research Association.

Michael brings a valuable perspective to the Collective Bargaining Process.  He was a past Executive Board Member and Vice President of Local 641 of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters while employed at ITT Grinnell.   This experience provides Michael a unique understanding of how to best resolve most labor issues.
